Global innovation roundtable in India – New Delhi, 5 December 2011: EU Delegation in New Delhi attended a Global Innovation Roundtable, organised by the Indian National Innovation Council and chaired by Sam Pitroda (adviser to the Prime Minister of India on innovation), which brought together the heads of innovation from 15 Governments to discuss the role of innovation in improving growth and welfare.
The European Commission presents Horizon 2020 – Brussels, Nov 30, 2011: European Commission presented on November 30 its €80 billion research funding programme for the decade - Horizon 2020 – aimed at boosting research, stimulating innovation and simplifying the way scientists and smaller businesses can get funding for EU-backed projects. The Horizon 2020 programme brings together all EU research and innovation funding under a single scheme running from 2014 to 2020. Horizon 2020 is divided into three major pillars.
New INDIGO Foresight exercise completed – 24 Nov 2011: New INDIGO's analytical activities, the project has been running a foresight study on the future of S&T cooperation between India and Europe.the foresight process engaged policy and programme-makers as well as scientists in discussions on driving factors of collaborative research and a successful future cooperation scenario.
EC: Strategic R&I agenda for India taking shape – 23 Nov 2011: SFIC India Group, involving interested Member States and DG RTD, has elaborated a working paper outlining the EU/MS Strategic Agenda (SA) for R&I cooperation with India. The paper, which was presented during the recent SFIC meeting, will be further developed and discussed with Indian authorities with the view of agreeing on priorities for enhancing cooperation between EU/MS and India
