Australia ACCESS4EU aims to enhance European Union and Australian cooperation in science and innovation by investigating and reflecting upon the current state of European researchers’ access to Australian funded research, technological development and innovation programmes and facilities.

Please note:The Australian component of the ACCESS4EU initiative is now concluded. This website will no longer be updated. The calendar of research opportunities for European researchers provides links to established and ongoing funding programmes in Australia. Our cousin project, the FEAST Extension Enhancement and Demonstration project (FEED), will continue until mid-2012. Their website – – has a wealth of information on Australian research strengths, capabilities and opportunities and on mobility issues. A successor to AUS-ACCESS4EU and FEED will likely begin in the second half of 2012.

The project will:

• highlight Australia’s distinctive research strengths and resources, where they may complement those of the various regions of Europe;

• map the current opportunities open to European researchers and provide those to European researchers through the common project database and through information workshops in Europe;

• monitor the current levels of participation of European researchers in Australian programs. This data will be showcased on the project website and through targeted information days in Europe;

• identify barriers to greater European participation at policy and practical levels;

• discuss project data and reflections on it with key Australian programme owners and other stakeholders, providing the opportunity to facilitate further development of cooperative research policies.
